Joomla! integration module

The instructions on this page are intended for self service and online accounts.
Enterprise customers should contact their account managers for integration support.

This module allows easy addition of ClickTale code into a Joomla! powered website and works in a similar way to the other code/plugins.
Please note:
If you wish to record pages which require visitors to be logged in to view, or pages which have dynamic, user-specific content, or POST pages which have content unavailable via GET, we recommend you incorporate the PHP integration module instead of using the Joomla! module.

Installation Instructions for Joomla! 1.0

1. Download ClickTale module from here. Save it somewhere, but do not unzip.
2. Log in as administrator.
3. From the menu choose "Installers" and then choose "Modules".
4. Under "Upload Package File" click browse, and then find the zip directory you saved earlier.
5. Click "Upload File & Install"
6. After you install the module, choose "Modules" -> "Site Modules" from the menu.
7. Locate "ClickTale Module" in the list and click on it.
8. In the "Details pane you should set: "Show title" as "No", "Published" as "Yes" and "Position" as "debug".
9. In the "Parameters" pane, put your Top and Bottom scripts in the text-boxes.
10. Click save (top right of the window).

Installation Instructions for Joomla 1.5

1. Download ClickTale module from here. Save it somewhere, but do not unzip.
2. Log in as administrator.
3. From the menu choose "Extensions" and then choose "Install/Uninstall".
4. Under "Upload Package File" click browse, and then find the zip directory you saved earlier.
5. Click "Upload File & Install"
6. After you install the module, go to "Extensions" -> "Module Manager".
7. Locate "ClickTale Module" in the list and click on it.
8. In the "Details pane you should set: "Show title" as "No", "Enabled" as "Yes" and "Position" as "debug".
9. In the "Parameters" pane, put your Top and Bottom scripts in the text-boxes.
10. Click save (top right of the window).

Notes

• In step 8, if your template does not support the "debug" position, you can choose another one (eg. "footer"). The point is to place the module as low as possible on the webpage.
• Download links for Joomla 1.0 Module and Joomla 1.5 Module are different.
• Joomla 1.0 Module is not optimal since it places both "top" and "bottom" codes at the bottom of the page. We strongly recommend updating your Joomla to the newest version.

Joomla! Extension

1. Download the extension by Josh Guedalia here
2. Go to Extensions>Install/Uninstall browse to clicktale.zip and press 'Upload File & Install', should see 'Install Plugin Success'
3. Go to Extensions>Plugin Manager select 'System - Clicktale' to edit plugin.
4. Enable plugin (publish) and place tracking code received from clicktale.com in the two parameters - 'top' and 'bottom'

That's it, now every page on the site will have the tracking code added.
