[edit] Setup

  1. Go to http://www.clicktale.com/pricing.aspx
  2. Choose the account type you want and press “Signup”.
  3. Fill in your name and details and click “Create a New Account.”
  4. If you have chosen a paid account, complete the payment process.
  5. Once your account has been set up, click on the “Create Project” button.
  6. Choose a name for your project.
  7. Try to estimate roughly how many pageviews your site gets a day.
  8. Choose a Recording Ratio based on ClickTale’s recommendation. For example, if you select a Recording Ratio of 10%, ClickTale will randomly select 1 out of 10 visitors to be recorded.
  9. On the next page, copy the two tracking codes created for your project.
  10. Paste the first code right after the <body> tag on your webpage, and the second code right before the </body> tag. (N.B. If you have dynamic, POST or session based pages, use the relevant integration method shown at the right side of the code generation page instead.)

That’s it! Your account will now begin automatically recording based on the ratios you gave.
