Session player
Session Player
The Session Player is the tool that allows you to watch the recordings of individual visitors to your site. See your site through the eyes of your visitors, understand how they use your site, what they're trying to achieve and where they encounter errors. By optimizing your site based on the understanding of your customer's behavior throughout your website, you can achieve better conversion rates, increased sales and see a much higher return on your investment.
Settings
Play button - to watch the visitor browsing session, click the play button at the top left of the player and start the playback. By default, the ClickTale player skips all user inactivity. This can be changed by unselecting “Skip User Inactivity” checkbox at the bottom of the page.
Use the “Next” and “Previous” buttons to skip to the next visitor or the previous one. The “next” and “previous” buttons are only active if you are watching a visitor session with more than 1 page.
To reload the page and watch the browsing session from the beginning click the
symbol.
Jumping between recorded pages - to quickly navigate to view the visitor’s behavior on a specific page use the arrow next the URL to open a drop down list and select the page from there. The number of pages in this session is indicated by the number next to the URL e.g. This is the first page out of 30.
Timeline - There is a scroll bar indicating the total amount of time spent on each of the pages and while the session is playing you can see an exact account of what the visitor was doing on the page and at the precise time.
Demographic details - the country your visitor is from is marked with country flag and name acronym. Hover over the (?) to view more demographic and technical details of the visitor – their language, the browser they used to view your site, the computer operating system, screen resolution, and visitor local time zone.
The date and time displayed are when the user viewed the specific page, calibrated to your local date and time.
Engagement time - is displayed below the timeline and is calculated using the time visitors actually interact with the webpage, any inactivity higher than 20 seconds is removed. There can be a big difference between the time spent on the page (as seen in the Timeline) and the actual Engagement Time.
Using the settings toolbar you can slow down or speed up the video.
Auto next allows you to set the player to automatically skip to the next vied page if on and if not the player will stop and wait for you to manually choose the next page to play.
Skip activity is mentioned above and is set to on as default, should you wish to see the inactivity of visitors simply toggle the switch off.
Save your settings for watching future browsing sessions.
